Banquet Overview

The Keepers of the Quaich bid you a warm welcome to Scotland for the 67th Keepers of the Quaich Spring 2024 Banquet held at Blair Castle.

There was 44 Keepers inducted as Life Members, bringing the total number of members who have been inducted as Keepers to over 3,000.

There was five Masters inducted, bringing the total to over 260.

Diana Gabaldon was the Guest of Honour and was awarded the title of Honorary Keeper. Only 64 guests have been awarded the title of Honorary Keeper of the Quaich.

New Keepers came from the following 16 countries: Canada, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Norway, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, The Netherlands, Turkey, UAE, UK and the USA.

Including new members, Keepers are now represented in over 100 countries.

The Duke of Argyll is the 23rd Grand Master, he is also a Master of the Quaich.

The top table hosted the Chair Ian Smith and his wife Caroline. Also in attendance were the Marquess of Lorne, the Earl and Countess of Dalhousie, the Earl of Erroll, the Earl and Countess of Hopetoun, the Earl of Moray, Bertie Troughton, and the Lord and Lady Bruce. Lorne Mackillop, the current Master of the Worshipful Company of Distillers, also attended with his wife Seana.

We were delighted to welcome back the Erdradour Pitlochry and Blair Atholl Youth Band and the house band ‘Spirit of the Quaich’ led by the previous recipient of the Keepers of the Quaich scholarship with the RCS, Chris Gray.
