Who are Harris Tweed Hebrides
Harris Tweed® has been the choice fabric for film stars and royalty for some time which is a unique fabric woven in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland on traditional looms. The ‘Clo Mor’ (Gaelic with for The Big Cloth) is the only fabric in the world to have its own Act of Parliament. Three key tenets of the 1993 statute state that the cloth must be woven in The Outer Hebrides, using virgin wool, at the home of the weaver. Harris Tweed has thus kept a unique heritage of craft and manufacturing skills - where the hand and the eye remain just as important as they did over a hundred years ago.
Our Partnership
Over a period of time the Keepers collaborated with Harris Tweed Hebrides to produce cloth and a beautiful range of items to complement the traditional items of merchandise. There are two clothes available to purchase. The Keepers tartan has been beautifully replicated in Harris Tweed and all items are available for members. We also have a stock of blue tweed available for items for guest of the banquet.
